PACK / 005 — Vote 001 results: the bag is 22L

The first real decision on this convertible motorcycle backpack didn't come from me. It came from you.

39 riders voted on size. Here's how it broke down:

22L wins it clearly, and that's the volume v3 is built around.

It's not a landslide toward the middle either. Almost as many riders wanted it bigger as wanted it smaller, which tells me something: this bag has to work as a real commuter capacity, laptop, charger, layer, lunch, without turning into a weekend pack. 22L is the number, but I'm carrying that spread into how I think about internal organization so the bag earns its size instead of just filling it.

This is the whole point of building in public. I don't get to guess at what riders want and hope I'm right. You tell me, I build it, and I show you when I got it wrong. Size was the first call. It won't be the last.

One more thing. If you voted, you voted early, before this bag was anything but a prototype and a promise. I've got something small coming for early riders like you. Not ready to talk about it yet. Just know it's coming.

What's next: Vote 002 opens August 19th. I'm also showing this bag in person at Still Splitting Lanes in Brooklyn on August 30th. If you're around NYC that day, come see it.

Thanks for voting. Thanks for being early.
